Hello everyone and welcome to the home of a space exploration game being developed by me called Starscape (more of a working title rather)!
What is Starscape?
Inspired heavily from a space game developed in the early 2000s called Noctis, Starscape currently is in the early alpha stages where I’ll be adding many features and making large changes to the game as a whole. As of yet, there’s not much to do except fly around a full-scale, procedurally generated star system consisting of several different planets and moons; land on these planets and moons and walk around; fly around in a little-shuttle craft; and explore your, still small, mothership.
What is Starscape planned to be?
My end goal for Starscape is to have a game in which the player learns, through environmental story telling, the history of an ancient alien civilization by sifting through ruins and strange flotsam and jetsam. I’ll post a list of planned features here in the future but for now, as I am just one person developing this, I don’t want to promise things which I cannot deliver or have such a vast scope as to be impossible to accomplish.
When can I play?
Builds of the game will be posted in the “Downloads” page along with information regarding what was added or changed in each build. The first public alpha build will be released by the end of November 2020. I plan to update the public release every 2 weeks or so and the game will be entirely free to play until I feel a player would feel justified in paying for the product. As for a final release date, I cannot make any promises as I have many other obligations and working alone on this project means certain features could take a long time to implement.
